BONJ on Cablevision

Two exciting Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey programs are being aired on Morris Cablevision Public Access Channel 21 from April to September, 2011.

On Sundays at 9:00 AM, tune in to enjoy our "Romantic Journeys" DVD, featuring:

  • "Hebrides Overture," also known as "Fingal's Cave," by Felix Mendelssohn (1809-1847).  This piece, written in 1830, was performed by BONJ on October 10, 2010 at Dolan Performance Hall, The College of Saint Elizabeth, Morristown, NJ.
  • Symphony #9 in E minor, "From The New World," by Antonin Dvorak (1841-1904).  One of the most beautiful and popular of all symphonies, it was written during Dvorak's visit to the United States, 1892-1895.  It was performed at Dolan Hall on October 10, 2010.
  • Piano Concerto in A minor by Edvard Grieg (1843-1907), Norway's greatest composer.  Among the most popular of all piano concerti, it was performed by Jarred Tafaro with BONJ at Dolan Hall on November 14, 2010.

On Tuesdays at 1:00 PM, BONJ presents one of its unique "Concerts and Conversations" series, this time featuring excerpts from "Siegfried" by Richard Wagner (1813-1883).  The Orchestra's Conductor and Artistic Director, Dr. Robert W. Butts, presents and discusses Act 3, scenes 1 and 2, performed on August 11, 2008 at Dolan Hall.  Dr. Butts also examines "Siegfried's" place in Wagner's "Ring" cycle.

These DVDs are available for sale at all BONJ performances, or by mail order.

Two different performances will be aired on Cablevision starting in October, 2011.  We'll add details when available
